FDM or resin — which type of 3D printer should you buy?
They are different tools, not better and worse. FDM (filament) printers are cheaper to run, safer, cleaner, and better for functional parts and large objects. Resin (MSLA) printers such as the Elegoo Saturn series produce far finer detail and are the right choice for miniatures and jewelry, but they are messy, need isopropyl alcohol for washing, and have smaller build volumes.

What do 3D printers actually cost to run?
